Our House, In The Middle Of Our Street

I finally got my act together enough to take some photographs of our new home!  For the sake of privacy I did not take any exterior shots so if you want the curbside view you just need to come over.  The photos I included here are some of my favorite slices of our sweet home.  It was built in 1961 and contains three bedrooms, two bathrooms a lovely garage and nice sized back yard.  We were in the market for several months trying to find a good home to buy, but competition is fierce for buying houses in California right now.  We would place a full price offer and then get way out bid.  One day I was frustrated and decided to post on Facebook that I was looking to buy a home just to see if anyone had any inside scoop.  That very same day our friend told us her husband was thinking of selling his rental home since his renters were about to move out.  We went to look at the house and fell in love and a few weeks later the deal was done!  So yes, I bought my house off Facebook and I am proud of it.

I will start our tour at the front door where our very quaint doorbell instructs you what to do.

You enter the house into our living room and the front wall is one large window overlooking the front yard.

To the right of this view I have proudly placed my family heirloom upright grand piano. Thank you to Mom for parting with it. And thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for  the gorgeous book ends.

You move forward into the house to my favorite room: the kitchen.  It is newly remodeled with lovely granite counter tops, custom cabinets and stainless steel appliances.  I am spoiled.

Another view of the kitchen, and a view of my sweet pup who gets to live with us now that we have a fenced in yard.

The dining area is directly opposite the sink wall and is bathed in nice light from a sliding glass door that leads out into the back yard.

Our  backyard is nothing but dry dirt and weeds, so we have our work cut out for us.  Down the hall to the left is a full bath, to the right is Bubba’s studio.  A few steps further to the right is my studio.

To the left is the master bedroom which is pretty stark at this point since I can’t really decide on decor yet.

This is our cozy master bathroom. Newly redone as well!

I will end your photo tour there. If you want to see the rest you have to come over for a visit. Needless to say we are happy as clams in our sweet new home.
